The Matches make good on decade old promise

The Matches are one of my two all-time favorite bands. I discovered them back in 2006 when they released their second album on Epitaph Records, Decomposer. There’s a much longer version of this story where I explain flying to San Francisco and encouraging the internet to take up using #decomposertour2016, and I promise I’ll tell it before ten years are up. Unlike the Matches themselves, who promised back in 2006 they would release a video for their song “Little Maggots.”

It’s the ten year anniversary of that album, and the Matches will be playing it front to back in June in Chicago, Los Angeles, Atlanta, and New York City. And they finally made good on their “Little Maggots” promise as frontman Shawn Harris finished animating the video. Well kind of. Here it is.
